Coastal Pilots, Inc. is a small group of experienced Towing Masters that have come together to serve the wheelhouse staffing needs of the marine industry. Our Trip Pilots are available on short notice for short and long term assignment anywhere in the United States and Caribbean.
Our pilots have a generous benefit package, including 100% medical, dental, optical, disability, prescription drug, 401k and profit sharing in place for the principals. In 2012, just as in our previous years, our mission is to guarantee our pilots are in 100% compliance with all Coast Guard drug and alcohol testing requirements through the highest quality program available to the marine industry through The Maritime Consortium.
Our Goal is to make it easy for you to find experienced, qualified wheelhouse personnel on short notice.
Our pilots have a minimum of 15 years experience and hold third issue or better Master of Towing Vessels, Oceans, Coastwise, Inland and Western Rivers License and have experience on inland push boats, offshore tugs and tractor tugs both Z-drive and Voith Drive. We have pushed long tows, heavy tows, black oil, clean product, CDC cargo, dry cargo, six packs and unit tows with and without a bow thruster.
Our diverse experience has allowed us to be dispatched on short notice to assignments in the inland, offshore, construction, dredging, bunkering and ship assist areas of the industry.
Our Trip Pilots are currently posted on the following routes:
- East Canal from New Orleans, LA to Carrabelle, FL.
- West Canal - New Orleans to Brownsville, TX
- Lower Mississippi River New Orleans, LA to Cairo, IL
- Ohio River - Cairo, IL to Cincinnati, OH
- Tennesee Tom Bigbee Waterway & Black Warrior River
- Port Allen Route from Morgan City, LA to Baton Rouge, LA.
- Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway from Miami, FL to Norfolk, VA
- Numerous bayous in TX and LA and the ports of Miami, Port Everglades, Cape Canaveral, Jacksonville, Pensacola, Panama City, Freeport, FL, Mobile, AL, Galveston, Texas City, Houston, Sabine, Orange, Port Arthur, Freeport, TX, Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, Beaufort, Wilmington, NC, New York, NY, Newark, NJ, San Francisco Bay and Delta, Los Angeles, San Diego, CA
